When facing sex crime charges, it’s important to understand the difficulties that can arise before you even go to court. An arrest can cause serious problems with your job, your social circle and your family members. The media reports may make you feel as though everyone believes you are guilty before your case goes to trial.
These are a just a couple of the reasons why it is so important to find experienced legal representation when you are facing charges for sex offenses. The defense strategy your attorney uses will be based on your story versus the evidence and witnesses the prosecution has.
Those who are charged with sex offenses against children have the same rights as other defendants. They are innocent until proven guilty, and they have the right to a fair trial and the right to appeal an unfavorable verdict. Your attorney can provide more information on how to proceed, including whether the prosecution is offering a plea bargain in the case.
