Ms. Houshmandpour is no stranger to hardship. She came to the United States at a young age as a refugee from Iran. While she is fluent in Farsi, at the time she arrived in the U.S. Ms. Houshmandpour spoke little English. She overcame this obstacle, mastering English, graduating with honors from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and earning her law degree from Elon University.

During law school, Ms. Houshmandpour interned with the Guilford County District Attorney’s office, gaining insight and experience into how a prosecutor builds a case against a criminal defendant. After earning her license to practice law in North Carolina, Attorney Houshmandpour opened a successful law practice, applying her knowledge of the courtroom and legal training to defending those accused of a crime in the Raleigh area.
